I have been an activist in my area since I was 19 years old. At the age of 32, I was appointed Speaker of the American Indian Elder's Society for 20 reservations back home. This is a writing I did years ago and is my book, Flight of a Hummingbird. It is a threefold writing. It is a prayer, an understanding of how to remain on a path with the Great Spirit and an understanding of that. PRAYER OF ONENESS AND HEALING. OH Great Spirit, the Creator of all and which all life is a part of you, as a reflection of your spirit. Life is but the striving to remain within your perfect reflection. That you, Oh Great Spirit, provide all I need to remain a part of you. Through what I am provided and not provided in life. Through what I experience and do not experience in life. That you and all you have created are immortal in spirit. Therefore, all who remain a part of your reflection shall also live forever, in spirit with you. That you have given me, humankind, your laws of balance, respect, love, gratitude, honesty, trust, faith, and hope, which allows me and all to live in harmony with your spirit and thereby remain a part of you. That with you Oh Great Spirit, in my heart, my mind,, my words and actions, nothing or no one can truly harm, injure, or deprive me of any blessing you wish for me in my life, for you are above all and only you are truly great. Oh Great Spirit, I freely acknowledge it is only when I wander outside of your perfect reflection and do not live by the laws you have provided, that I truly suffer and become ill. That it is only by staying within your perfect reflection, that I remain whole, without need, suffering or illness. That only to you, Oh Great Spirit, do I look to for all my needs, happiness, blessings, joys of life and healing. It is only to you, Oh Great Spirit, do I place my absolute trust and faith. I give thanks to you, Oh Great Spirit, for allowing me to be a part of you and for all in my life. I pray to you, Oh Great Spirit, for your guidance, blessing, forgiveness, healing, strength and protection. AHO! Hummingbird

Hello my friends over the years I have shared my writings, my feelings, my thoughts with you. And have shared who I am in life. Now it is time to tell you an experience you can believe it or not. One night I felt compelled to go out to my prayers spot, which was given to me, to pray. It is a place I often went out to and pray and look for guidance in life and sometimes looking for the words to speak at a funeral I was asked to speak at. While out alone in the dark looking up to the sky and praying all of a sudden I was engulfed within, every fiber of my being, feeling all the suffering of all life crying out to the Creator enough, enough has been lost and died. I was so taken aback, so stunned, so overwhelmed with these feelings I began to cry. All I could feel and say was look upward to the stars and sky and say, " This is not 2,000 years ago forgiven them for they no not what they do, because they all know what they do. Every person on the planet has been taught in their own culture, their own language, their own ways. By prophets, holymen in every race and culture. This was done to unite us in our understanding of life not to divide us. But humans have wanted to control, say their holymen, prophets, teachers are the way and the only way. When in fact if you stepped back and read and saw you would see we have been given a beautiful mosaic of belief and understanding. We live in a time unfortunately where I see only more death, suffering until we as a human race come together and understand and realize we all live under the same sky, under the same stars, on the same earth as equals and should embrace as such. At times in my life fully feeling and knowing what I experienced was real it has been a heart breaking knowledge to carry. This experience has been known only to a few Elders that I was living life with and now they are gone. I pour my heart out to you. It will take us all to open up and embrace each other and embrace the beauty of all life which has been given to us to overcome what is before us. My heart and prayers go out to all life. Hummingbird
