I have been on a plant-based diet for a year, and I feel more alert and focused. My problem was that I needed more iron and other important things in my food. I discovered that eating green vegetables and lentils with my meals made me feel much better.
I began eating a diet focused on plants to be healthier, and I see that my cholesterol got better. It was hard for me to stop eating some foods that make me feel good, like cheese. I found out that there are some yummy vegan cheese options available!
I started plant-based diet because it felt like the right thing to do, and now I feel like I understand and care about nature and animals more. It was hard for me to be around other people, especially when we went to a restaurant together. I discovered how to ask for food that doesn't contain animal products or recommend a restaurant that serves vegan dishes.
Since switching to a plant-based diet, I've discovered that I have more energy and feel less lethargic after eating. Finding enough diversity in my diet and ensuring sure I was receiving adequate protein were challenges for me. But after I learned about tofu and tempeh, everything got much simpler.
For me, better digestion and less digestive problems were two of the main advantages of a plant-based diet. But in the beginning, I had trouble organizing my meals and finding sufficient food. My advice is to experiment with various herbs and spices to add flavor to your food.
